Why does the Alpine Rivers Neck Wallet looks so familiar? That’s because it’s almost identical to my favorite Zero Grid neck wallet! What’s going on here?

How Does the Alpine Rivers Neck Wallet Stack Up?

Three zippered compartments, check. Two horizontal, one vertical, Check! 201D ripstop nylon. Check! Mesh backing, YKK Zippers, 7.5 by 5.7 inches? Check, check, check. So what makes this different from the Zero Grid neck wallet besides the price?

The first and most notable change is a small one but could affect your purchase of either product. The vertical zip that goes all the way up the side of the Zero Grid neck pouch is intersected by the horizontal zip in the Alpine Rivers version:

vs

Looking at them side by side, they must have come from the same factory. Apart from this one design change and basic branding they seem to be identical. The Alpine Rivers Neck Wallet even producing the same loud sound with its zips.

If I had to choose which one is more functional, I have to say I’m a sucker for the taller vertical zip. I can see how people would prefer it the other way around but for me, that big vertical zip is the perfect solution for my phone and passport. It also doesn’t seem to get in the way of the other pockets.

Look and feel

So how does the Alpine Rivers Neck Wallet look and feel? Much like the Zero Grid unsurprisingly. I can’t help but get the feeling that it just feels…cheaper? Which might be because it is actually cheaper.

The branding and overall look of the wallet certainly isn’t as sleek as the ZG but apart from that, it’s much the same in every other way.

It doubles as a belt wallet, it has plenty of room and is super thin and light-weight. The strap appears identical and is easily adjusted. There is only one color choice available compared to the 4 or so that Zero Grid offers.

Last but not least, what sets Zero Grid apart is their customer service and dedication to the quality of their products. Alpine Rivers offer a 12 month money back guaranty compared to Zero Grids lifetime offer. Also, for a limited time 5 bonus RFID sleeves for your cards and wallets come standard with any purchase through Amazon.

Right now, at this price, with that offer, Alpine Rivers is on par with Zero Grids offering. I’ll be watching this space!

REVIEW – Alpine Rivers Neck Wallet Passport Holder
More of a comparison article than a review, I would be flogging a dead horse to simple reiterate what is clearly an almost identical product. What can I say, the Alpine Rivers Neck Wallet is every bit as good as the Zero Grid Neck Pouch. It will be interesting to see how the build quality lasts over time. Watch this space!
