REVIEW – Pacsafe Coversafe X100 RFID Money Belt

Pacsafe add another quality money belt to their arsenal. The Pacsafe Coversafe X100 RFID Money Belt features a slashproof strap and slick look.
How Does The Pacsafe Coversafe X100 RFID Money Belt Stack Up?
Pacsafe are one of the more reliable brands in the industry. Constantly updating their products and striving to improve. They are also one of the bigger companies out there specializing in travel accessories and bags. What does this mean for us? Generally well made and manufactured products with a low number of defective units.
The Pacsafe Coversafe X100 RFID Money Belt is an interesting one for me. As you reach the higher echelons of price for money belts, you start to notice things like slash proof straps. The Pacsafe is one of these belts that still manages to keep the cost low while providing extra security. The strap and it’s buckle are actually the highlights of this money belt.
The strap is reinforced with two steel cables that run through it’s length. Please note the cable does not run through the entirety of the wallet. Even with the cable, the strap is easily adjustable and quite flexible. You can still grab it with two hands and give it a pull and feel the flex. The other small but noteworthy feature is the buckle that is partially hidden by an extra piece of polyester that makes it that little bit harder for thieves. A small touch and something that doesn’t hamper the ease of use when disconnecting.
Look and Feel
The Pacsafe Coversafe X100 RFID Money Belt is pretty smart looking and comes in two different colors. It’s sized fairly well ( 5.3 x 10.2 inches ) and sits easily on your waist. It’s made with strong 75D Polyester and RFID protected. Contrary to most of the popular travel wallet designs, there is only one pocket.
The main (and only) pocket is protected by a zip which is in turn partially covered by a flap of polyester. The zip pull itself is metal with no tab. The combination of the flap and generally small zip without tab make it a little tricky to open at times. Most people will have little to no trouble with this I would imagine.
Inside the main pocket there is a horizontal divider. My guess is that you can separate your cash and currency in one pocket and your passport/other incidentals in the other. I’m not sure why they did away with the extra separators for cards in this newer model. Previous models had a bit more going on in there.
The fabric is polyester and perhaps a little thicker than some of the ripstop we’ve seen on other wallets. I would say it is marginally bulkier due to this. It doesn’t really affect the overall fit and feel of the money belt. All in all the wallet looks and feels like a quality item. The stitching is sound and the materials feel durable.
